Front lounge, rear lounge, or twin bed?

There are hundreds of different motorhome layout combinations on the market, but at IH we break it down into simple terms: where is your lounge, and how do you sleep? When you come to build your bespoke IH van with us, we ask - front lounge, rear lounge, or twin bed? Where do you want to relax in the daytime, and where do you want to sleep at night?

It's all a trade-off

With your chosen layout, you're essentially rotating the elements of your living space to a different area - with new compromises and new strengths. Where space is gained in one area, it's lost in another, so it's important to know what matters most to you.

The fixed rear bed

For some, it's a spacious, fixed rear bed - always there, always ready to lay down and get a good night's rest. It takes up a large area of space, and it's a permanent fixture, but it offers little hassle when it comes to bedtime. The trade-off is a less flexible space to live in and enjoy during the daytime.

The capable lounge

For others, it's a nice capable lounge - somewhere to sit around with the family, eat a nice evening meal, play some board games and watch a film as the sun sets. There's no right or wrong answer. Of course, with a lounge like this you'll need to convert it to a sleeping space when you're ready.

Keep it simple

There's lots to consider, but keep it simple: think about where you want to sleep, and how the people you travel with would be situated. The rest can fit around you and make the perfect travel experience as seamless as possible.
